Application analysis

Define the facility-water and equipment-cooling interfaces.

Separate the facility water system from the technology cooling system in the connection schedule. Record the fluid, water-quality limits, wetted materials, operating conditions and owner of each interface. Use the selected CDU and IT equipment connection specifications to define the equipment side.

Mark isolation, filling, sampling, service clearances and leak-monitoring interfaces on the layout. Define flushing, cleanliness and commissioning requirements before connection. Record redundancy, control behaviour and failure isolation in the facility cooling design.

Facility cooling headers

Route the specified facility-water service to its equipment connection points.

CDU connections

Define connection boundaries, service access and commissioning responsibilities.

Phased capacity

Plan staged connections with defined isolation and commissioning boundaries.

Part-number starting points

Components to review.

Review catalogue dimensions, materials and connection types alongside the service schedule. Add selected part numbers to your enquiry.

Specify the size, pipe outside diameter, material, seal, joining system and tool. Include the intended duty and required product acceptance documents with the enquiry.

Questions worth resolving

Before the specification is fixed.

What separates facility water from technology cooling?

Document the CDU boundary and the independent fluid, material, pressure, temperature and cleanliness requirements on each side.

Which materials need a coolant review?

Review all wetted pipework, fittings, seals and connected equipment against the coolant composition and treatment specification.

Where should resilience requirements be recorded?

Include redundancy, isolation, leak response, controls and commissioning criteria in the facility cooling design.
