Application analysis

Coordinate the water-side connection at each terminal.

Build the branch schedule from each AHU, coil or terminal connection drawing. Record water-side duty, flow, pressure differential and dimensions. Allocate responsibility for isolation, control valves, balancing devices and measuring points.

Coordinate the branch with equipment access doors, insulation and maintenance space. Define drainage, venting, supports and movement allowances. Record installation, flushing, testing and commissioning responsibilities alongside the equipment schedule.

Air-handling units

Coordinate coil connections with access doors and maintenance zones.

Fan-coil distribution

Prepare a consistent but duty-specific branch schedule.

Plant replacements

Resolve the new equipment interface against existing distribution.

Part-number starting points

Components to review.

Review catalogue dimensions, materials and connection types alongside the service schedule. Add selected part numbers to your enquiry.

Specify the size, pipe outside diameter, material, seal, joining system and tool. Include the intended duty and required product acceptance documents with the enquiry.

Questions worth resolving

Before the specification is fixed.

What belongs in an AHU branch schedule?

List flow, pressure differential, connection dimensions, isolation/control/balancing requirements and access clearances.

How should repeated terminal branches be prepared?

Group terminals by their documented duty and connection requirements, then record the branch arrangement for each type.

How does this page relate to Cooling & Heating?

HVAC focuses on AHU and terminal interfaces. Cooling & Heating covers thermal plant and the wider hydronic distribution arrangement.
