Marine utilities / class review

Marine
piping solutions.

Plan freshwater and closed-loop utility connections around vessel requirements, confined access and equipment interfaces.

Application analysis

Coordinate freshwater utilities with the vessel layout.

Identify the vessel, fluid service, installation location and applicable vessel acceptance requirements. Record pipe and equipment connection dimensions, operating/design conditions and the documentation required for each proposed component.

Coordinate isolation, maintenance space, deck and bulkhead penetrations, supports and restraint with the vessel drawings. Include vibration, movement and external exposure in the installation brief. Keep the equipment package boundary visible in the pipework schedule.

Freshwater utility concepts

Prepare a service definition and project-specific document request.

Closed-loop cooling

Review a contained secondary circuit and equipment boundaries.

Retrofit planning

Coordinate access, existing interfaces and vessel maintenance windows.

Concept arrangement / 06

Make the interfaces visible.

Part-number starting points

Components to review.

Review catalogue dimensions, materials and connection types alongside the service schedule. Add selected part numbers to your enquiry.

Specify the size, pipe outside diameter, material, seal, joining system and tool. Include the intended duty and required product acceptance documents with the enquiry.

Prepare the next conversation

A focused application brief.

  1. Vessel, flag and classification details
  2. Named system and fluid composition
  3. Design conditions and external exposure
  4. Support and penetration requirements
  5. Required product certificates and inspection scope

Questions worth resolving

Before the specification is fixed.

What documentation belongs in a marine enquiry?

Provide the vessel/system requirements, component acceptance criteria, connection details and required manufacturer/product documentation.

How should seawater service be handled?

Prepare a separate corrosion, material and system specification for seawater or aggressive chloride exposure.

Which installation constraints should be shown?

Mark service clearances, penetrations, supports, restraints, vibration/movement requirements and access for replacement.
