Application analysis

Coordinate the secondary utilities around energy equipment.

Use the energy equipment connection specification to define the utility package. Schedule heat-pump water circuits, secondary equipment cooling and general site water as separate duties, with their own fluid and operating/design conditions.

Mark supply/return interfaces, isolation and measuring points on the balance-of-plant drawing. Include glycol or treatment chemistry, start-up/shutdown cycles, external exposure, insulation and maintenance access. Record movement and support requirements with the mechanical layout.

Part-number starting points

Components to review.

Review catalogue dimensions, materials and connection types alongside the service schedule. Add selected part numbers to your enquiry.

Specify the size, pipe outside diameter, material, seal, joining system and tool. Include the intended duty and required product acceptance documents with the enquiry.

Questions worth resolving

Before the specification is fixed.

What defines the utility connection?

Use the equipment connection drawing, duty, fluid composition, pressure/temperature limits and required flow.

What fluid information belongs in the brief?

Specify the water quality, glycol type and concentration, treatment additives and wetted-material requirements.

What should the first layout show?

Mark supply, return, connection dimensions, isolation, controls, supports and access for service.
