Application analysis

Define the regulated inlet and each gas-service branch.

Record the gas, purity requirement, source arrangement and point-of-use demand. Mark the regulated supply interface and distinguish downstream distribution from high-pressure source manifolds and cryogenic equipment.

Locate isolation, measuring interfaces and identified branches on the layout. Specify wetted materials, seals, cleanliness and the required leak-test criteria. Inert gases displace oxygen; include oxygen-deficiency controls, ventilation and operating procedures in the facility’s gas-system design.

Questions worth resolving

Before the specification is fixed.

What information belongs in the gas-service brief?

Identify the gas, purity, pressure, temperature, supply arrangement, required flow, connection dimensions and cleanliness criteria.

Where does the distribution concept begin?

Mark the agreed regulated inlet on the system drawing and document source/manifold equipment as a separate package.

Which safety requirements belong in the system design?

Address pressure containment, leakage, oxygen deficiency, ventilation, monitoring and operating procedures for the installation.
